BACKFIRE Billet Third Brake Light Housing

This is a very versatile lighting solution for your truck. Light up the trails, light up the job site, or camp site. With amber lenses (as pictured), it also can be used as a chase light for fast off-road running. We chose the Baja Designs S2 for its small form factor, robust build quality, and efficient use of power. With nearly 3,400 lumens at your fingertips, they are potent at illuminating the dark. 

We opted to run a much larger two stage red LEDs (marker light and brake light). These are not only brighter, but also DOT compliant. We mounted the red LEDs higher and more prominent in the housing for better visibility for vehicles to your rear. 

The EPDM 40A 5mm thick rubber gasket is exactly what this job calls for. Laser cut for a perfect seal and fit, you will never worry about water intrusion into your cab through the third brake light housing. 

Not only do we provide the ability to add an NMO mount for your radio, but we also thought of futureproofing your housing by also providing you with a second pass through for a network cable. This is super handy if you are overlanding and require an internet connection through Starlink or something similar. No more running the network cable through your door jamb or sliding rear window! 

All of our Ford housings have provisions for OEM cargo camera as standard. If your truck is not equipped with a bed camera, there will be a weatherproof cap in its place. NMO and Network cable pass-through are both optional. You can choose at the time of ordering which options you would like to have your housing equipped with or you can add these options later. If you opt for neither, your housing will have weatherproof caps in those locations. 

Why did we make all the options available, you ask? Well, several reasons. Sustainability for one. This is a housing which you can grow into. You can add an NMO mount later. You can add the network pass through later. It helps you with resale if you ever trade/sell your truck. You can reinstall your OEM 3rd brake light and sell your THRUSTWORKS housing to anyone! By default, it can accept all the options.

LVJ Wiring Harness Integration

We're partnering directly with the folks at LVJ to supply the integration harness for our light housing. All wiring harnesses are made here in the USA by LVJ Motorsports and have been specifically designed to integrate with your truck's OEM running/brake lights and the S2 lights.

• The basic harness incorporates three red running/brake LEDs with your OEM wiring harness. It will also integrate the center S2 to the truck's OEM cargo light. The button on your dash will operate the cargo light. Additional wiring is included by LVJ to operate the left and right S2s to the truck's OEM upfitter switches or aftermarket controller.

Lighting Options - S2 Lights Not Included

There are any number of combinations available, which allows you to choose the ideal lighting setup for your needs. All white lighting for camping or jobsites. Amber and white for chase and utility. For Raptor drivers attending off road events, having bright amber chase lights is important for safety and to help those behind to see you. The most common lighting setup is the outermost lights in an amber driving/combo beam pattern and the center most light in a white wide cornering or scene beam pattern (as pictured).
